Recently, Doubao Mobile Assistant unveiled its technical preview version. Developed by the Doubao team under ByteDance and launched on December 1, 2025, this mobile AI assistant achieves seamless functional integration through system-level collaboration with mobile phone manufacturers. The first engineering prototype, the Nubia M153, equipped with this innovative assistant, was jointly released by Doubao and ZTE at a price of 3,499 yuan. The device quickly sold out in the official store, with prices on second-hand platforms soaring by 700 to 1,500 yuan. Some sellers even listed it for nearly 10,000 yuan, highlighting its high demand.

Built upon the Doubao large model, the assistant leverages GUI simulated click technology to enable cross-application automatic operations. It supports real-time visual understanding and localized memory storage, and introduces a Pro mode to tackle complex tasks. However, the technical preview version has some limitations, including slower execution speeds compared to manual operations and occasional errors in dynamic page recognition.

In terms of privacy protection, the assistant combines local data processing with cloud encryption. For highly sensitive operations like payments, it triggers a manual confirmation process and allows users to disable the memory function at any time. On December 3, some users reported abnormal WeChat login issues while using the assistant. The Doubao team advised suspending the use of operational functions involving third-party applications until the issue is resolved.

Additionally, some bloggers discovered remnants of Smartisan Technology within Doubao's mobile phone system software. Traces such as "smartisan" and "smartisanos" were found, along with built-in classic Smartisan ringtones, hinting at a possible technological inheritance or collaboration.
