On December 3, 2025, a number of users reported experiencing glitches when attempting to log into WeChat while testing the nubia M153 engineering phone, a collaborative product by Doubao and ZTE. The screen showed an error message: "The login environment is abnormal. Please switch to another device and log in again." While users managed to log in briefly after switching accounts, they were promptly logged out once again when they tried to transfer their chat records. Moreover, when utilizing the Doubao Assistant to carry out operations that involved WeChat features, the system generated error messages, indicating task failures. It also clarified that this function was still in the experimental (laboratory) phase and did not currently support WeChat operations.

Another user pointed out that WeChat on the engineering phone had automatically logged out but resumed normal functioning after a re-login. As of the time of this report's publication, neither ByteDance nor Tencent WeChat had issued any official statements.
