Samsung has officially declared the introduction of its latest top-tier mobile processor, the Exynos 2600. This chip is poised to become Samsung's inaugural processor to utilize a cutting-edge 2nm manufacturing technique. It is slated to make its first appearance in conjunction with the S26 series smartphones in early 2026.

Historically, Exynos chips have been at the center of debates, primarily concerning their performance and overheating tendencies. Samsung's decision to release a teaser video this time around might be seen as an effort to address these lingering doubts. The Exynos 2600 is touted as having undergone 'fundamental core enhancements' and 'all-encompassing optimization,' with the ambition to 'achieve unparalleled performance.' Yet, its true prowess is still pending market verification.

In line with industry norms, the Exynos 2600 is anticipated to be formally launched either this month or the next. Meanwhile, the S26 series smartphones are expected to hit the market in February 2026. Samsung intends to revive its 'dual-processor' supply approach for the S26 series, with certain models boasting the Exynos 2600 and others equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5. This strategy is designed to diminish dependence on Qualcomm and manage expenses effectively. According to reports, the internal cost of the Exynos 2600 is estimated to be $20 to $30 less than that of Qualcomm's offerings.
