India is set to allocate $25 billion towards nurturing its domestic deep tech startups, with the strategic goal of bolstering its global standing in the technology arena, closing the gap with the United States and China, and diminishing reliance on overseas cutting-edge technologies. Rajat Tandon, the leader of the Indian Venture and Alternate Capital Association, disclosed that India has already amassed $11.6 billion in deep tech investments over the last ten years. Currently, the Indian government is poised to inject $11 billion through the Research and Development Infrastructure Fund. This initiative will be complemented by equivalent contributions from venture capitalists and private equity fund managers. Furthermore, an extra $3 billion to $4 billion will be channeled into this sector, culminating in a total deep tech investment of $25 billion.
