At precisely 12:15 PM on July 10, 2026, the Long March 10B carrier rocket soared into the sky from the Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site, skillfully deploying a satellite into its designated orbit. Around six minutes following the separation of its first and second stages, the first stage executed a vertical return and was expertly retrieved on an offshore recovery platform through a net capture technique. This historic mission not only signifies China's inaugural success in achieving controlled recovery of a carrier rocket's first stage but also stands as the world's first instance of net-based recovery for such a rocket. The liquid methane fuel propelling the Long March 10B was derived from LNG resources provided by Sinopec. This marks Sinopec's pioneering foray into applying clean energy within the aerospace domain, facilitating a significant transition of LNG resources from conventional sectors to the aerospace industry and propelling the industrial chain towards more advanced and sophisticated applications.
