Blue Origin's New Glenn rocket has been cleared to resume its launch operations. During its third mission in April of this year, an unusual thermal situation arose in the rocket's upper stage, causing one of its engines to produce less thrust than anticipated. Consequently, the AST SpaceMobile satellite on board was consumed by the intense heat as it re-entered the Earth's atmosphere. Fortunately, the financial loss incurred from the satellite's destruction is covered by insurance. Blue Origin has since submitted a comprehensive incident report and implemented all necessary corrective measures. Importantly, this incident did not compromise the rocket's booster, which remains reusable, nor did it hinder its successful landing and recovery on an unmanned ship at sea. The company had initially set a goal to accomplish 12 launches by the end of 2026, and it remains to be seen how the one-month suspension of launches will influence its overall launch objectives.
