On May 21, Cui Dongshu, Secretary-General of the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), revealed in an article that China's combined production volume of power batteries and other types of batteries soared to 184 GWh in April, representing a significant 34% year-on-year (YoY) increase. From January to April, the cumulative production output climbed to 671 GWh, also showing a robust 28% YoY growth. This year, the pace of battery growth has decelerated somewhat, primarily attributed to the subdued demand for power batteries, a gradual alignment in supply-demand dynamics, and the muted market enthusiasm surrounding power battery installations. Notably, exports have emerged as the pivotal factor shaping this trend.
