Microsoft is currently conducting trials on a Microsoft Store application, dubbed Project Odeon. This app boasts icons and interface designs reminiscent of the Windows 11 Settings app. At present, it is classified as a 'productivity' tool and is designated as a 'preview version.' Within the Windows 11 Insider Preview environment, this app can operate concurrently with the built-in system settings, without supplanting the existing settings functionalities. Our tests have shown that it is capable of identifying the computer's name, network status, and any pending updates. Nevertheless, there are certain discrepancies when compared to the built-in app, particularly in terms of storage capacity and graphics card information. Additionally, some links within the app are currently non-functional. From a technical standpoint, the app is built on the .NET framework and utilizes a sandboxed architecture. This ensures that the user interface remains confined to the Store app, only calling upon external helper programs when system-level modifications are necessary.
