On July 20, the State Council Information Office convened a press conference to discuss the industrial and information technology progress during the first half of 2026. Xie Cun, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, highlighted that over the past two years, over 70 significant computing power corridors have been set up around the national computing power hub nodes. This development has resulted in a 10% enhancement in network performance between the pertinent nodes. With the rapid expansion of large-scale artificial intelligence models and intelligent agent applications, there's a persistent uptick in the demand for intelligent computing power.
Moving forward, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology plans to adopt a holistic strategy, emphasizing key points, chains, networks, surfaces, and systems, to refine the distribution of computing power infrastructure resources. The aim is to establish interconnected computing power nodes and elevate the efficiency of computing power resource utilization. Specifically, the ministry will fine-tune the allocation of computing power resources, harmonize industrial growth with energy supply, foster the development of intelligent computing clusters, and ensure coordinated progress between computing power and electricity. It will also establish a tiered computing power structure and bolster comprehensive monitoring of computing power.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is set to unveil a guideline for constructing a computing power standard system. This move is designed to encourage the establishment of standards for evaluating computing power service capabilities and implementing market-oriented pricing for computing power, aligning with international best practices and ensuring a robust and competitive computing power market.
