On July 20, Xie Cun, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, announced that by the end of June, China had established a staggering 5.102 million 5G base stations, with an impressive 32.86 million 10GPON ports capable of delivering gigabit network services. At present, China is vigorously advancing the deployment of 5G-A commercial networks and conducting pilot projects to roll out 10-gigabit optical networks in residential areas, factories, and industrial parks. Simultaneously, the range of 5G-enabled intelligent terminals is expanding rapidly, with AI-powered smartphones and computers, intelligent robots, AI glasses, AI toys, and other innovative products emerging as the latest trends in information consumption.

Furthermore, China has granted the usage license for 6G trial frequencies within the 6GHz spectrum band and is expediting the second phase of 6G technology trials. In terms of open development, China has launched pilot initiatives to broaden the opening-up of value-added telecommunication services, yielding remarkable outcomes. To date, there have been a cumulative total of 3,219 foreign-invested telecommunication enterprises, marking a significant year-on-year increase of 23.9%.
