Microsoft has clarified in the update notes for the Microsoft 365 admin portal that the scope of the newly added 'jailbreak/root detection' feature in the Authenticator app has been defined. Currently, this feature only applies to work or school accounts using Microsoft Entra credentials, covering accounts for businesses, schools, universities, and those related to Microsoft 365, Teams, Outlook (for work), Azure, Intune, etc. If Authenticator detects that the device is a jailbroken iPhone or a rooted Android phone, both existing and newly added work or school accounts may be blocked, aiming to safeguard organizational security.
