On March 17, news emerged that CSI Solar revealed its energy storage business arm, CSI Energy Storage, had inked a supply deal with a prominent overseas public utility enterprise. This agreement pertains to the provision of battery energy storage systems for a project boasting a capacity of roughly 500MW/2,493MWh (DC, denoting direct current). The project's primary objectives are to address the surging electricity needs of data centers and bolster the resilience and dependability of the regional power grid.
As per the terms of the agreement, CSI Energy Storage is set to deliver approximately 500 SolBank 3.0 energy storage systems. The shipment of equipment is slated to kick off in March 2027 and is projected to reach completion by July of the same year.
