On March 17, Google announced that it will build a new data center within the service area of DTE Energy in Michigan, USA. Under the agreement, both parties will directly deliver round-the-clock clean electricity to the power grid to support data center operations and enhance grid reliability. As part of the collaboration, Google will establish a $10 million 'Energy Impact Fund.' The data center will be powered by 2.7 gigawatts of new grid resources, including solar energy, advanced energy storage technologies, and demand response capabilities.
