According to data published by the Ministry of Science and ICT on the 14th, South Korea's ICT product exports soared to US$22.87 billion in August of this year, marking an 11.1% increase from the same period last year and setting a new record high for August. Semiconductor exports stood out, reaching a historic peak of US$15.11 billion and serving as the primary catalyst for the growth in ICT exports. Meanwhile, exports of communication equipment saw a modest 1.8% year-on-year rise, whereas exports of displays, mobile phones, and computers along with peripheral equipment experienced declines of 9.4%, 15.4%, and 16.6% year-on-year, respectively. During the same timeframe, ICT imports climbed to US$12.53 billion, reflecting a 7.6% year-on-year increase. Consequently, the ICT trade balance achieved a surplus of US$10.34 billion.
