At the "Semiconductor-Driven Humanoid Robots" seminar held in Seoul, South Korea, Cho Min-sung, the Senior Vice President of Intel, revealed that the company is set to introduce the "Razor Lake AX" processor in 2028, specifically designed for the physical AI domain. This processor represents Intel's inaugural foray into commercializing a large-memory-bandwidth, large-core-display System on a Chip (SoC). It will incorporate either 16 or 32 Xe3P cores, delivering a staggering total platform computing power of 700 TOPS. This performance is roughly 3.88 times greater than that of the current Panther Lake platform, which stands at 180 TOPS. The primary objective of this processor is to bolster the real-time perception and decision-making prowess of edge intelligent devices, including robots. Prior to this announcement, Intel had outlined plans to release the "Nova Lake" processor in early 2027, which will serve as the technological bedrock for the subsequent "Razor Lake AX".
