In reaction to the swirling rumors regarding the discontinuation of NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5090, Jeff Fisher, the Senior Vice President of NVIDIA's Personal Computing Business, unequivocally refuted these claims during his attendance at the RTX Spark event in Taipei on October 17, 2026. He emphasized that the RTX 5090, as a cornerstone of NVIDIA's product lineup, remains in production and that the company is committed to its continued availability. Nevertheless, he did concede that the current supply chain is facing capacity constraints, and NVIDIA is diligently striving to expedite the product's market entry. Earlier, there had been unverified reports suggesting that NVIDIA planned to halt RTX 5090 production and reallocate the GB202 chip to its RTX PRO professional graphics card series. However, these assertions lack official confirmation. Although the RTX 5090 has recently been experiencing stock shortages in retail outlets, the challenge of procuring the graphics card through these channels does not constitute an official discontinuation announcement from the manufacturer.
