On October 15, TSMC unveiled its financial results for the third quarter, revealing a revenue of NT$1.49 trillion. This marks a substantial year-on-year surge of 51%, hitting an all-time high. The net profit soared to NT$763.1 billion, equating to a staggering daily net profit of 1.7 billion yuan. This represents a notable year-on-year hike of 68.7%, setting a fresh record for six consecutive quarters. The only blip on the radar was the gross profit margin, which dipped due to the large-scale mass production of 2-nanometer chips this quarter. This led to significant depreciation of new production lines and the necessity to enhance yield rates. Consequently, the gross profit margin dropped from 67.7% in the second quarter to 66.4%. Although this decline fell within the company's projected range, it fell short of market expectations.
