Huawei's latest triple-folding flagship, the Mate XT 2, has officially hit stores, with offline retailers proudly displaying its innovative hinge technology and the self-developed Kirin 9050 Pro chip. The Kirin 9050 Pro stands out as the inaugural high-performance chip to incorporate logical folding technology, making its grand entrance alongside the Mate XT 2. This chip also marks Huawei's return to the flagship Kirin series after a six-year hiatus and is anticipated to power the upcoming Mate 90 series as well.
Built upon Huawei's Tao (τ) Law, unveiled in May of this year, the Kirin 9050 Pro chip optimizes performance by strategically arranging logical units in layers and integrating vertical interconnection channels. This design significantly reduces signal transmission delay. Its CPU employs the Lingxi architecture, achieving a remarkable 24% enhancement in single-core peak performance and a substantial 52% increase in multi-core computing capabilities. The GPU, featuring the Maliang architecture, supports hardware-level real-time ray tracing and delivers an impressive 142% improvement in rendering performance compared to its predecessor.
