According to SEMI's latest forecast, the semiconductor equipment market is set to maintain its upward trajectory over the next three years. Global sales of semiconductor manufacturing equipment are projected to hit a record high of USD 165.9 billion by 2026, and are further expected to soar to USD 229.5 billion by 2028, marking five consecutive years of growth. TSMC has also announced an increase in its capital expenditures for 2026, with an anticipated investment ranging from USD 60 billion to USD 64 billion, reflecting an approximate 15% rise. ASML's quarterly performance has surpassed expectations, prompting the company to raise its full-year performance targets for the second time this year. The resurgence in demand for AI computing power and storage is propelling the industry into a high-growth phase. Moreover, prices of semiconductor equipment components globally are on the rise across the entire supply chain, with pricing power gradually shifting towards the equipment and component sectors. Component companies are benefiting from increased profit margins due to these price hikes, although supply elasticity remains constrained. In areas such as valves and piping, extended lead times from overseas suppliers offer dual opportunities for domestic substitution and price increases.
