At its annual conference, Arm launched the second-generation mobile computing subsystem, CSS for Mobile 2. This system integrates the new Mali G2-Ultra NX GPU and the C2 CPU cluster with SME2, providing full support for agent AI and AI-native graphics technologies. The Mali G2-Ultra NX is the first Mali GPU to incorporate a dedicated neural network accelerator, delivering up to 4x higher performance per watt in neural network processing scenarios and up to 14% higher performance for existing gaming content. It has already gained support from multiple game developers and engine providers. The C2 CPU cluster doubles its computing power, enabling the latest small language models to run up to 70% faster. Compared to the previous generation, the C2-Ultra delivers up to 1.7x higher AI performance and 15% higher single-thread performance, while reducing power consumption by up to 38% for the same performance level. Additionally, the system offers a developer-ready software ecosystem, facilitating large-scale development and deployment of AI applications. It brings value to chip manufacturers, developers, and end-users by accelerating the creation of differentiated products, providing a unified development platform, and delivering a superior experience, respectively.
