On September 7th, Huawei hosted its autumn full-scenario new product launch event, with the spotlight firmly on the new-generation triple-folding flagship phone, the Mate XT2. The tech industry is abuzz with speculation over whether this device will be the first globally to be powered by the Kirin 2026 chip, which is built on an entirely new self-developed architecture inspired by the principles of Taoism (here, "Tao's Law" can be understood as a metaphor for natural harmony and efficiency, reflecting Huawei's pursuit of innovative and balanced technological solutions).

Earlier, the R&D team, spearheaded by He Tingbo, the head of Huawei's semiconductor division, published pivotal technical papers on the Chinese Academy of Sciences platform. These papers revealed real-world test data for the Kirin 2026, showcasing its groundbreaking capabilities. This chip overcomes the traditional limitation of semiconductor stacking, which inevitably generates heat. By increasing transistor density by 55%, it simultaneously reduces NPU power consumption by 66%, GPU power consumption by 58%, and CPU large-core power consumption by 41% under equivalent performance conditions. This represents a significant leap in energy efficiency.

With the power consumption constraints lifted, the NPU's computing power, GPU's extreme frame rates, and CPU's peak performance all witness substantial enhancements. This achievement underscores that domestic semiconductors have doubled their energy efficiency through independent innovation in the underlying architecture, without relying on generational advancements in process technology. It paves a new path for the independent development of the industry.

Furthermore, during the launch event, Huawei also announced the pricing of its previously revealed wide-straight-board smartphone, with its appearance and specifications already made public.
