Corenergy and Ideal Auto have entered into a fresh round of strategic cooperation, culminating in the successful production launch of 8-inch silicon carbide wafers. This collaboration has broadened its scope from automotive electric drive systems to encompass onboard thermal management systems, among other applications. As the pioneering company in China to achieve mass production of 8-inch silicon carbide wafers, Corenergy has seamlessly transitioned from 6-inch to 8-inch production lines. The 8-inch silicon carbide chips produced in this latest round are poised to enter the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) mass production phase. Moving forward, both companies will leverage this milestone to expedite the large-scale production of 8-inch silicon carbide chips, innovate their core products, and explore new areas of collaboration. Their initial agreement, signed in March 2024, focused on jointly advancing automotive-grade silicon carbide technology. By February 2025, Corenergy had achieved mass production of 6-inch silicon carbide wafers, providing robust support for Ideal Auto's i-series models.
