A-Share Market: Three Key Indices Close Up, Semiconductor Sector Sees Decline

On July 23, the three major indices of China's A-share market concluded the trading session with collective gains. The Shanghai Composite Index rose by 0.25%, the Shenzhen Component Index advanced by 0.44%, and the ChiNext Index also climbed 0.25%. However, the semiconductor sector experienced a notable downturn, with Hua Hong Semiconductor plunging over 10%. SMIC and VeriSilicon also witnessed significant declines, dropping more than 6%, while Cambricon and Demingli fell by over 4%.
In contrast, the smart grid and lithium battery sectors emerged as the top performers. Multiple stocks in these sectors, including Cloud Electric, Sungrow Power Supply, Heshun Electrical, and Yongshan Lithium Industry, soared to their daily limits. Additionally, oil and gas stocks continued to strengthen, with ST Zhunyou and Zhongman Petroleum also hitting their daily limits.
