During the Q1 FY2026 earnings call, AMD CEO Lisa Su stated that agent AI is reshaping the server CPU market landscape and serves as the core driver of growth this quarter. Major cloud service providers are expanding their deployment of EPYC processors, with workloads driving stronger demand for AMD server CPUs. UBS previously estimated that the total addressable market for server CPUs will grow fivefold by 2030, while Su projected that, driven by agent AI, the market's compound annual growth rate could reach 35%. When asked whether CPU demand would cannibalize the GPU market, Su denied this, stating that CPU demand largely complements the GPU market. Additionally, with the proliferation of agent AI, the CPU-to-GPU ratio is shifting from the traditional 1:4 or 1:8 toward 1:1, and there may even be scenarios where CPU quantities surpass GPUs.
