The AMD Ryzen AI Max 400 series processor, bearing the codename Gorgon Halo, is slated for launch. Serving as an enhanced iteration of the Strix Halo, it doesn't introduce a brand-new architecture. Instead, it builds upon the existing Zen 5 CPU architecture, RDNA 3.5 GPU architecture, and XDNA 2 NPU. The performance enhancements are achieved by elevating the operating frequencies of both the CPU and GPU. This series retains the FP11 package design and offers compatibility with higher-frequency LPDDR5X memory. The flagship model, the Ryzen AI Max+ 495, boasts 16 cores and 32 threads, with a CPU boost frequency reaching up to 5.2GHz. It integrates a Radeon 8065S GPU, featuring 40 compute units and operating at a frequency of 3.0GHz. With a TDP of 55W, this processor is projected to hit the market in the fourth quarter of 2026.
