At a recent media briefing, NIO founder Li Bin announced that Shenji’s second-generation 5nm automotive-grade intelligent chip has been successfully taped out. Compared to its predecessor, this new chip reduces costs by one-third to one-half while delivering computing power equivalent to three Nvidia Orin-X chips. The chip has now entered mass production and is undergoing preliminary testing with multiple industry partners, with plans to expand its applications into automotive systems and embodied AI solutions in the near future.
