On January 9, Cristiano Amon, President and CEO of Qualcomm, delivered his New Year address, providing a comprehensive review of the company’s business progress in 2025. In the mobile sector, Qualcomm’s fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite mobile platform stood out by securing the CES 2026 Innovation Award, a testament to its cutting-edge technology. Meanwhile, in the PC realm, the Snapdragon X2 Elite series platform has been embraced by over 150 AI-enabled PCs, with its Neural Processing Unit (NPU) earning global acclaim as the “fastest for laptops.”
In the automotive industry, Qualcomm achieved a significant milestone, with its automotive business revenue surpassing $1 billion in a single quarter for the first time. The Snapdragon Ride Pilot driver assistance system has been successfully integrated into the BMW iX3, enhancing driving safety and convenience. Additionally, in the wearable device sector, Qualcomm’s platform forged partnerships with leading brands such as Meta and Google, and together with Xiaomi, Alibaba, and other partners, launched over 30 innovative terminals, showcasing its versatility and market reach.
Regarding connectivity and networks, Qualcomm’s Wi-Fi 7 platform has been a driving force, supporting over 1,500 commercial terminals. The company has also embarked on the deployment of Wi-Fi 8 and 6G technologies, paving the way for the next generation of wireless communication. Looking ahead with optimism, Amon announced that Qualcomm is poised to introduce 6G pre-commercial terminal devices as early as 2028, marking a significant step towards the future of connectivity.
