During the CES 2026 press event, AMD introduced two fresh additions to its Ryzen AI Max+ lineup: the Ryzen AI Max+ 392 and the Ryzen AI Max+ 388. The Ryzen AI Max+ 392 slots in between the AI Max+ 395 and AI Max+ 390 models, packing 12 cores and 24 threads, along with 12MB of L2 cache, 64MB of L3 cache, and a peak CPU clock speed of up to 5.0GHz. In contrast, the Ryzen AI Max+ 388 comes with 8 cores and 16 threads, 8MB of L2 cache, 32MB of L3 cache, and also achieves a CPU frequency of up to 5.0GHz. Both newcomers are outfitted with a full-fledged 40CU Radeon 8060S GPU, offering performance that falls between the RTX 4060 and 4070 laptop graphics cards. This setup is tailored to cater to the needs of graphics-heavy tasks, such as casual gaming and AI-powered drawing. OEM powerhouses like Acer and ASUS are set to commence shipping systems based on these two new processors in the first quarter of 2026.
