In a recent video, the well - known hardware aficionado Der8auer completely disassembled NVIDIA's prototype TITAN Ada graphics card, which was never officially launched. This graphics card is built around the AD102 core. It comes packed with a full complement of 18,432 CUDA cores and boasts a massive 48GB of GDDR6X memory.

In terms of design, it adopts a quad - slot layout, making it bulkier than the RTX 4090 Founders Edition. Moreover, it uses a dual 16 - pin power connector.

When it comes to performance testing, the TITAN Ada outperformed the RTX 4090 in 3DMark Time Spy Extreme by around 15%. However, this performance boost came at a cost, as it consumed 14% more power. In the game Cyberpunk 2077, it delivered an average frames - per - second (FPS) rate that was 22% higher than that of the RTX 4090.

Despite its impressive capabilities, NVIDIA decided not to release it to the market. One possible reason is to steer clear of internal competition with the workstation - grade RTX 6000 Ada. Additionally, the high production costs, stemming from the low yield rate of flawless AD102 cores, might have also played a role in this decision.
