This decision stems from a substantial surge in material costs, primarily driven by the sharp rise in GDDR memory prices. Presently, the world is experiencing a scarcity of DRAM supply, with memory prices escalating dramatically over just a few weeks. This rapid increase has left the supply chain struggling to adapt swiftly. Given that the extensive expansion of data centers has absorbed a significant portion of DRAM production capacity, memory manufacturers are now prioritizing sectors that offer higher returns. Consequently, entry-level consumer graphics cards, which yield minimal profit margins, face the threat of being phased out.
