Based on the most recent leak from Moore's Law is Dead, AMD's upcoming Zen7 architecture, which is two generations ahead, will leverage TSMC's A16/A14 manufacturing process and will be suitable for desktops, laptops, and servers. The Zen7 desktop platform, codenamed Grimlock Ridge, will introduce two distinct types of CCDs: the high-performance Silverton and the optimized Silverking. The Silverton CCD is designed with 16 cores, specifically tailored for enterprise-grade servers and HEDT platforms. It supports 3D V-Cache technology, boasting a substantial 3D cache Die capacity of up to 160MB. On the other hand, the Silverking CCD features an 8-core design, catering to the client market for use in desktops and mobile devices. The Zen7 architecture is anticipated to complete its tape-out phase by the end of 2026 or early 2027, with an official release planned for mid-2028 or beyond.
