As per the information from the National Enterprise Bankruptcy and Restructuring Case Information Network and the announcement issued by the Shanghai No.3 Intermediate People's Court, the Shanghai Institute of Semiconductor Devices has now entered the bankruptcy liquidation phase. On August 27, 2025, responding to the application submitted by the applicant, Shanghai Huisheng Industrial Co., Ltd., the court made a ruling to accept the case for compulsory liquidation. During the liquidation process, the liquidation team found that no monetary assets were handed over, and only a single creditor came forward to declare claims, with the total amounting to RMB 14,132,687.76. Given that the institute's assets were insufficient to cover its debts, the court, on October 30, 2025, made a decision to terminate the compulsory liquidation procedure and gave its approval for the institute to enter bankruptcy liquidation. Consequently, this state-owned research institution, with a history spanning 51 years, is set to bid farewell to the historical stage.
