On November 5 (local time), Nexperia Netherlands posted an update on its official website. The company welcomed the U.S. decision to suspend the 'look-through rule' for a year and China's measures to facilitate the resumption of exports from its Chinese factories and foundries. Additionally, Nexperia clarified that Zhang Xuezheng is no longer in the position of CEO, refuting rumors of his reappointment. At present, almost all voting rights associated with the Nexperia shares owned by Wingtech Technology have been transferred to an independent administrator. Earlier, a Dutch court had appointed an interim CEO to succeed Zhang Xuezheng. However, Nexperia China contended that this appointment lacked legal standing in China, intensifying the power struggle. On October 29, Nexperia halted wafer shipments to its Dongguan factory, attributing the move to non-payment by its Chinese subsidiary. In reaction, Nexperia China claimed that the Dutch headquarters owed 1 billion yuan in unpaid dues and assured that its inventory levels were adequate. The Dongguan factory represents 70% of Nexperia's total terminal production capacity. The disruption in supply has led to panic-buying among European automakers, causing chip prices to surge by nearly 20%.
