Jensen Huang has long harbored the ambition to introduce AI GPUs featuring the Blackwell architecture into the Chinese market. He's even contemplating the launch of a specialized version to replace the underperforming H20 chips. However, at present, the outlook appears rather grim.

U.S. President Trump has unequivocally stated that he will prohibit the export of the most cutting-edge NVIDIA Blackwell GPU chips to China. These chips will be given priority for supply to U.S. companies, with no provisions for China or other nations.

Furthermore, U.S. Treasury Secretary Besent has mentioned that due to the rapid pace of technological innovation, the Blackwell chips could become technologically obsolete within a span of 12 to 24 months. Only at that juncture might exporting them to China be a viable option. Yet, this assertion remains unverified by official sources. U.S. Trade Representative Grier has also underscored the fact that the export of Blackwell chips to China is not currently a topic of discussion.
