Recently, Kou Chia-chang, the General Manager of Silicon Motion Technology, remarked that the global memory sector is now grappling with a severe, long-standing structural shortage, driven by the substantial growth in artificial intelligence applications. He disclosed that the production capacities of the three leading DRAM producers—SK Hynix, Samsung, and Micron—are fully utilized. Additionally, NAND memory suppliers, encompassing the top three manufacturers (Kioxia, Yangtze Memory Technologies (YMTC), among others), have also seen their production capacities completely booked.
