The Chinese semiconductor equipment market is in the midst of a significant transition, moving away from heavy reliance on imports towards fostering independent innovation and development. In 2022, this market experienced a downturn, with its size shrinking to USD 26.3 billion, a decline largely attributed to the global industrial cycle's sluggishness and shifts in the international trade landscape. However, this setback spurred the domestic semiconductor industry to intensify its efforts in substituting imported equipment with locally manufactured alternatives. As a result, the market witnessed a rebound, growing to USD 36.6 billion in 2023 and further surging to USD 46.6 billion in 2024. Projections indicate that the market will continue its upward trajectory, reaching approximately USD 47 billion by 2026.
