A substantial rise in the number of artificial intelligence data centers has led to a dramatic spike in power consumption. Consequently, a worldwide deficit in power transmission and distribution capabilities has become apparent. In response, Hitachi, Ltd. has announced its intention to expand the workforce of its subsidiary, Hitachi Energy, which specializes in power transmission and distribution equipment. By 2027, the company aims to have 65,000 employees at Hitachi Energy, marking a 30% surge from the count in March 2025, through the recruitment of an extra 15,000 individuals. Additionally, Hitachi will set up a worldwide development and manufacturing framework in regions including Europe, the United States, and India.
