Recently, China has successfully commissioned its first domestic grid-forming wind-solar-storage integrated system designed to ensure real-time power supply in substations. This milestone is embodied in the Houhai III (Chunhui Station) demonstration project. Under the leadership of the Shenzhen Power Supply Bureau, this project was a collaborative effort involving Hopewind Electric, Tsinghua University, and other key entities. Hopewind Electric contributed its self-developed modular grid-forming energy storage converters, playing a pivotal role in the project. This accomplishment represents a significant leap forward in integrating grid-forming energy storage technology with urban distribution networks in China, marking a new era in the country's pursuit of sustainable and reliable power solutions.
