On October 11, Reuters reported that a federal jury in Marshall, Texas, ruled that Samsung Electronics had infringed patents related to 4G, 5G, and WiFi communication standards, and was required to pay approximately $445.5 million (about 3.17 billion yuan) in damages to the patent owner, Collision Communications. The jury noted that Samsung's wireless devices, including laptops and Galaxy smartphones, had infringed four patents held by Collision.
