Intel has formally unveiled its new-generation Core Ultra processor, codenamed Panther Lake. This processor is crafted using the state-of-the-art 18A process node, and its production yields have surpassed market anticipations. Market analysts are of the opinion that the launch of Intel's 18A process node carries twofold strategic importance. On one front, its performance is on par with that of TSMC's 2nm technology offerings, and it attains mass production at an earlier stage. This achievement stands as a major milestone for Intel and for 2nm technology manufactured in the U.S. On the other front, it is anticipated to capture a larger share of U.S. customers in the upcoming rivalry with TSMC and Samsung in the foundry market.
