On July 30, Wired magazine reported that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is vigorously recruiting top AI talent for his newly established Superintelligence Lab. Having successfully lured several researchers away from OpenAI, Zuckerberg's sights are now set on TML, an AI company founded by Mira Murati, the former CTO of OpenAI. Despite TML's modest size of 50 employees, over a dozen of them have reportedly received lucrative job offers from Meta, yet none have accepted. Meta's Director of Communications has disputed the report, stating that the details are inaccurate. It is said that Zuckerberg personally reaches out to potential recruits via WhatsApp, offering generous compensation packages, but TML employees remain hesitant, grappling with the dilemma of balancing their ideals with the allure of high salaries.
