Nonetheless, Apple encountered a class-action lawsuit initiated by shareholders following the grand unveiling of 'Apple Intelligence' at the 2024 Worldwide Developers Conference, where it was touted as a key selling point for the iPhone 16. The shareholders alleged that Apple had misjudged the timing for integrating generative AI into Siri, which adversely affected iPhone sales and share prices, amounting to securities fraud. Indeed, in March 2025, Apple announced that certain Siri upgrades would be postponed until 2026, and its AI advancements fell short of market anticipations, leaving analysts disappointed.
