The competitive tensions within the AI hardware sector are mounting. According to insights from analytical firm SemiAnalysis, NVIDIA is reportedly applying pressure to 'Neocloud' cloud service providers that leverage rival technologies, including AMD GPUs and Google TPUs, by revoking their invitations to the GTC Berlin conference. SemiAnalysis has verified that several cloud service providers have been disqualified from attending the event because they integrated competitive chips into their infrastructure. Neocloud firms specialize in delivering infrastructure solutions tailored for AI training and inference requirements, and their ranks are continuously expanding. NVIDIA's strategy appears to be an attempt to curb the adoption of rival hardware among these providers. However, this pressure has not extended to large-scale hyperscale cloud operators. In response to these rumors, certain industry experts suggest that the situation may not escalate into a significant controversy, given that NVIDIA, as the host of the GTC conference, retains the prerogative to curate its guest list.
