A survey targeting Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) has unveiled that a significant number of large-scale enterprises across the UK are gearing up to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) with the intent of substituting human workforce within the forthcoming year. Based on a report published by Deloitte this Wednesday, a notable 52% of CFOs foresee job cuts as a consequence of AI technology implementation, despite its current utilization remaining in its nascent phases. A striking 67% of those surveyed indicated that the magnitude of transformation ushered in by AI currently stands at merely a quarter of its anticipated ultimate scale.

The report further substantiates that the UK economy is marked by a scenario of 'growth resurgence coupled with stagnant employment'. Owing to the exorbitant costs associated with AI adoption and labor, companies are opting to reduce their workforce while simultaneously expanding their business operations. This trend is contributing to an uptick in long-term unemployment across the UK, with the youth unemployment rate soaring to its zenith in over a decade. Such a situation presents a stark juxtaposition to the UK's preeminent economic standing within Europe.
