As of October 2026, adjustments will be made to the accessibility of Gemini application models. From October 9 onwards, free individual users accessing Gemini through its Web platform and App will no longer have default access to the comprehensive Flash model and Pro model. Instead, they will be uniformly directed to use the more lightweight Flash-Lite model. Concurrently, users subscribed to the AI Plus plan will also lose access to the Pro model, with relevant subscribers being informed via email about the effective date of these modifications.
Post-adjustment, users without any subscription plan will be restricted to using solely the Flash-Lite model. AI Plus subscribers will retain access to both the Flash-Lite and Flash models. In contrast, AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers will continue to enjoy unrestricted access to all three models: Flash-Lite, Flash, and Pro.
