The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has recently released a strategic plan, outlining its vision for the integration and mutual enhancement of artificial intelligence (AI) and information and communication technologies (ICT) by 2028. According to the plan, an innovative development paradigm characterized by the seamless integration and reciprocal promotion of AI and ICT will start to take shape. By this time, the ICT sector is expected to attain internationally leading levels in intelligent operation and service capabilities, with information and communication networks achieving a high degree of autonomy. The plan also envisions the creation of more than 30 high-value typical scenarios, along with the development of numerous exemplary applications and distinctive intelligent agents. Concurrently, the supportive capabilities of information infrastructure, including networks and computing power, for AI will be significantly bolstered. Specifically, the coverage rate of metropolitan computing power within a 1-millisecond latency circle is projected to reach at least 75%.
