OpenAI has recently revised its 'Stargate' AI infrastructure development blueprint, shifting towards a greater reliance on leasing computing power to fulfill its demands and consequently scaling back on self-constructed facilities. The company aims to attain its computing power objectives primarily through large-scale, bilateral agreements. While it will continue to source computing power from Nscale's original 'Stargate・Norway' data center, this will now be done indirectly, via the route of Nscale→Microsoft→OpenAI. Concurrently, Microsoft has pledged to support enterprises impacted by the alterations in the 'Stargate' plan, notably by assuming control of Crusoe's Phase II project at the Abilene campus in Texas, USA. As of now, OpenAI has secured 8GW of computing power and has set its sights on expanding this capacity to 30GW by the year 2030.
