The South Korean government has entered into a memorandum of understanding with DeepMind, an artificial intelligence (AI) firm operating under Google, to set up a framework for collaboration. This partnership encompasses joint AI research endeavors, talent nurturing, and the ethical utilization of AI technologies. Its overarching goal is to ensure the successful execution of the innovative 'K-Moonshot' initiative. This ambitious project is designed to address challenges across eight critical sectors by 2035, thereby bolstering South Korea's technological prowess in AI and counterbalancing the dominance of China and the United States in this domain. Both entities will engage in collaborative research activities centered around the National Scientific AI Research Center and will establish a working group to facilitate ongoing communication and coordination.
