A blogger reported an incident involving Kimi, a product developed by Moonshot AI, where they inadvertently pasted an incorrect image. In response, Kimi generated irrelevant text and subsequently returned a resume containing personal details such as the individual's name, phone number, and email address. Suspicions arose that the system had erroneously dispatched a resume uploaded by a different user. Upon reaching out to Moonshot AI, the blogger was informed that the incident was a result of an AI "hallucination" (a term used to describe instances where AI generates incorrect or nonsensical outputs), and the company requested the blogger to remove the post. However, the blogger proceeded to contact the individual whose resume had been compromised and chose not to delete the post. Moonshot AI officials did not offer any additional explanations, and crucially, the record of the affected individual uploading their resume could no longer be retained.
