The AI-driven video generation model Seedance 2.0, developed by ByteDance, has garnered significant attention. According to a report by Japan's Kyodo News on February 13, Kimiko Onoda, Japan's AI Strategy Minister, stated at a press conference following a cabinet meeting that the model enables users to freely generate videos featuring Japanese anime characters. This has sparked concerns over potential copyright violations and the presence of inappropriate content. The Japanese government is set to accelerate its efforts to understand the full scope of the situation and intends to initiate an investigation. Onoda also mentioned that the government would engage in dialogue with ByteDance to resolve the issue. Furthermore, The Walt Disney Company has accused ByteDance of unauthorized use of Disney's works in the training and development of the Seedance 2.0 model. Previously, the model had already been embroiled in copyright disputes due to its ability to generate numerous videos featuring images of celebrities.
